Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies QuickCalc uses on quickcalc.co.za, why we use them and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, phone or tablet) when you visit. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences (like display units or session state) over a period of time. Similar technologies — such as browser local storage, session storage and tracking pixels — perform equivalent functions and are covered by this policy.

2. Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the Site to function. These include cookies or local storage entries used to remember your unit and currency preferences and to secure the suggestion form. Without these the Site cannot work correctly. They do not identify you.

Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager to load anonymous analytics that help us understand how the Site is used (which pages are popular, whether users complete a calculation, roughly which country a visitor is from). This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

Advertising

Some pages carry advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies or use device identifiers to serve ads that are more relevant to you, to limit the number of times you see the same ad and to measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns. Google's use of advertising cookies is subject to Google's own advertising policies.

3. How to manage cookies

Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies from your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working (for example, your unit preferences will not persist between visits).

• Ads personalisation. Manage Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
• Industry opt-outs. Opt out of many third-party ad networks at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.com.
• Browser settings. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Brave all publish step-by-step guides in their help centres for managing cookies.

4. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry standard for how to respond to DNT, so we currently treat it as informational only and do not change our behaviour based on it. You can rely on the opt-outs above for meaningful control.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in the law. The current version is always available on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
