These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of quickcalc.co.za and any subdomains, calculators, guides, tools and services made available through it (together, the "Site"), operated by QuickCalc ("we", "our", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

The Site is intended for users aged 18 or older. By using the Site you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you are using it with the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who has read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Permitted use

You may use the Site for lawful personal, educational or internal business purposes. You may not:

  • copy, republish, resell or commercially exploit the calculators, guides or other content without our prior written consent;
  • use automated systems to scrape, crawl or extract content at a rate that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise derive the source of any part of the Site except to the extent expressly permitted by law;
  • interfere with the operation of the Site or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, other users' data or related systems;
  • use the Site to violate any law or regulation applicable in South Africa or in your jurisdiction.

3. No professional advice

The Site is a general reference tool. It does not provide financial, legal, tax, accounting, investment or real-estate advice. You must not rely on the Site as a substitute for professional advice tailored to your circumstances. See our full Disclaimer for detail.

4. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including software, calculator logic, text, articles, worked examples, layouts, graphics, logos and the QuickCalc name — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by South African and international copyright, trade mark and other laws. Except for the limited use expressly permitted above, no rights are granted to you. QuickCalc, the QuickCalc logo and related marks are trade marks of QuickCalc and may not be used without our written permission.

5. User submissions

If you submit a suggestion, correction, feedback or other material to us ("Submissions"), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify and incorporate the Submission for any purpose relating to the operation and improvement of the Site. You confirm that your Submission does not infringe any third-party rights and is not unlawful.

6. Availability

We do not guarantee that the Site will be available at all times, uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.

7. Third-party services and advertising

The Site includes third-party services such as analytics and advertising networks. Your use of those services is subject to the third party's own terms and privacy policies. We do not endorse and are not responsible for any third-party product, service or advertisement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuickCalc and its owners, contributors and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss or damage, or any loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site is limited to ZAR 100.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold QuickCalc harmless from any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The South African courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Site.
